A registration kiosk is a self-service kiosk that allows patients to check themselves in upon arrival at the practice or health centre. This means they do not need to queue at the reception desk and experience greater privacy because they do not have to state their name and date of birth out loud.
The patient first selects the type of appointment they are checking in for. They then enter their date of birth in three simple steps: day, month and year. In some cases, the postcode is also required for additional verification. Once the check-in is successful, the patient sees a green confirmation message and may take a seat in the waiting area.
